Ocean Nanoplastic Remediation
Kuiper Technologies is developing filtration and polymer chain degradation technology for ocean microplastic and nanoplastic remediation, paired with a SaaS credit engine for corporate sustainability offsets.
Product Direction
The remediation program connects physical cleanup systems with software-based measurement, verification, and credit workflows so environmental action can be tracked and reported with defensible records.
Target Use Cases
- Ocean microplastic and nanoplastic capture pathways.
- Repurposing aging and decommissioned oil and gas platforms in collaboration with EPA bodies, relevant government organizations, and other regulators to install Kuiper filtration and polymer chain degradation systems on offshore rigs. Kuiper's technology software OS is already written and tested, with the platform designed to operate as a completely self-sufficient site powered by wind, wave, and solar energy, while existing pipelines may be reused to send desalinated water back to shore.
- Polymer chain degradation workflows for recovered material streams.
- Future licensing of Kuiper filtration technology to wastewater treatment plants so treated wastewater can be filtered again for microplastic and nanoplastic particles that can remain after conventional treatment.
- Landfill remediation applications where polymer chain degradation technology can help shorten the pathway from legacy landfill use to viable farming, building, or community land use over approximately 25 years instead of the current century-scale landfill timelines.
- The long-term Kuiper Filter goal: a filtration system on taps around the world that can remove nanoplastics directly from tap water and make pure water safer, cleaner, and better to drink.
- SaaS credit tooling for corporate sustainability reporting and offset programs.
Commercial Status
This product line is part of the Kuiper Technologies R&D and prototype pipeline. Technical material, partner access, and credit-system details require written commercial, evaluation, or licensing terms.
