coNNect Privacy Policy
coNNect collects only the personal data required to provide account, discovery, messaging, venue, safety, moderation, billing-reference, and support features. This policy explains what data may be collected, how it is used, and the controls available to users.
Data Controller
Kuiper Technologies Pty Ltd is responsible for the coNNect app and related backend services.
Privacy and support contact: bartm@kuipertechnologies.com
Data We May Collect
- Account and profile data, such as account identifiers, display profile details, and authentication state.
- Generalized location data used for discovery and venue features.
- Opt-in Travel Safety Mode location data when the user enables that safety feature.
- Messages, group/community metadata, delivery state, and related safety metadata.
- Safety reports, block records, moderation records, and abuse-prevention signals.
- Contact matching hashes and matching results when contact discovery is enabled.
- Medical ICE card data where the user chooses to save it for safety use.
- Trusted contacts, privacy preferences, and app settings.
- Payment provider references only, where paid features are used.
- Identity or age verification status/reference only where required for safety or compliance.
Data We Do Not Store
coNNect does not store raw credit card numbers, CVV codes, full payment credentials, Face ID data, raw biometric templates, facial recognition source data, or unnecessary identity document images on Kuiper-controlled backend infrastructure.
Payment credentials must be handled by the payment processor. Identity or age verification source data that uses face matching must be handled by a specialist verification provider, with coNNect storing only the minimum outcome or reference needed for compliance and safety.
How We Use Data
- To create, authenticate, and protect user accounts.
- To provide discovery, map, venue, messaging, group, and safety features.
- To operate privacy controls, trusted contacts, and Travel Safety Mode.
- To detect abuse, enforce safety rules, review reports, and moderate harmful conduct.
- To support account deletion, data export, customer support, legal compliance, and security monitoring.
Location Privacy
- Exact location is private by default and is not required for ordinary discovery features.
- Discovery uses generalized coordinates unless the user enables Travel Safety Mode.
- Travel Safety Mode is opt-in, clearly described in the app, and can be turned off at any time.
- Background Safety Location is off by default and can only be enabled while Travel Safety Mode is enabled.
- When Travel Safety Mode is off, exact-location safety history is purged from local cache where applicable.
Messaging, Safety, and Moderation
coNNect may process message metadata, safety reports, block records, and moderation records to prevent abuse and protect users. Users should not use coNNect to send unlawful, abusive, exploitative, harassing, or unsafe content. Report and block controls are provided in-app where messaging or community features are available.
Local Caches and Device Storage
The mobile app may keep encrypted local caches for offline safety features, recently captured location history, medical ICE access, trusted contacts, privacy preferences, and session material in Keychain. Local caches are not the payment system of record and must not contain raw card credentials or facial recognition data.
Hosting and Subprocessors
Kuiper-controlled backend services are the system of record for coNNect app data unless a feature is explicitly marked as device-only or provider-only. Production hosting may use approved infrastructure providers, database providers, payment processors, identity or age-verification providers, and operational support providers where required to deliver the service.
Retention
Data is retained only for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce safety rules, and maintain security. Safety, moderation, account, and transaction-reference records may be retained where required for abuse prevention, legal compliance, and auditability. Local cache retention is limited by app privacy controls and can be cleared where supported.
User Controls
Users can access privacy controls in-app from Profile settings. Available controls may include:
- Request account deletion.
- Request data export.
- Delete local location cache.
- Delete local medical cache.
- Enable Incognito Mode.
- Toggle map visibility.
- Toggle read receipts.
- Manage trusted contacts.
- Review what is stored by backend services versus encrypted local caches.
Incognito Mode disables map visibility and read receipts locally. Backend services must also honor the user's privacy preference on discovery, presence, messaging metadata, and analytics where applicable.
Account Deletion
Users who create an account can initiate account deletion in-app where account features are enabled. Users may also contact Kuiper Technologies at bartm@kuipertechnologies.com for privacy or deletion support. Deletion requests remove account data that Kuiper is not legally or operationally required to retain for safety, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal compliance.
Children
coNNect is not intended for children under the minimum age required by applicable law or app-store policy. Users who do not meet the required age should not create an account or use the service.
Security
coNNect uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect user data, including secure transport, encrypted local storage for sensitive caches where applicable, Keychain storage for session material, access controls, and audit-oriented operational procedures. No system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.
Changes to This Policy
Kuiper Technologies may update this policy as coNNect evolves or as legal, security, or app-store requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page.
